PROCESS
Developing Innovations:
Vashon Partners has developed and continues to practice a specific methodology
for creating and evaluating innovations. The focused three-stage methodology includes
the following:
1) Stage One - Creation
Vashon Partners' monthly sessions produce an average of three to four new
concepts or innovations, against which specific criteria are used to advance to
Stage Two of the methodology.
2) Stage Two - Assessment
Concepts or innovations that evolve to Stage Two of the methodology are
placed through a detailed technical and business due diligence process. Technical
feasibility studies, as well as business modeling, market analysis and case proposals
are conducted to further evaluate the concept/innovation and determine its viability.
3) Stage Three - Execution
Once a concept/innovation has evolved out of the assessment stage, a
team of professionals is assembled to develop the opportunity. Milestones are established
on monthly and quarterly timelines. In addition, intellectual property provisions
are taken to protect technology, trademarks and copyrights associated with the concept/innovation.
Since 2000, Vashon Partners has developed and/or supported several innovations
by applying this methodology. From creation to execution, this process is typically
completed in approximately six months.
